Why do you guys refuse to accept the obvious? Why do you counter with "He hasn't been convicted of anything"? Juicing isn't a crime to be 'convicted' of - it's just cheating in sports. You are right - Bonds didn't take steroids. he took the new undetectable designer stuff that is much more effective than traditional steroids - he even admitted it, and then gave the lame "I didn't know" excuse. Did he or you guys not suspect anything when at 36 (the age when skills really start to diminish) Bonds body and his statistics suddenly double in size? What exactly do you Bonds appologists attribute that to? Was Bonds unwillingly zapped by UFO's? Receive special powers by God to become the next Messiah? I want to hear some your irrational excuses. 10 points for the best one!

That last minute all-star vote was a scam of epic proportions! Ballot box stuffing at it's worst. Left a guy like Chipper Jones off the team :(

If you guys would just say, "okay, he cheated, but we don't care" , we would leave you alone!
Worst answer so far: everybody does it.

People aren't on Bonds because he is a person of color. They are on him because he's an a*shole of the highest order! Bonds would have been the Ty Cobb of this era without the steroids. With them, he is in his own category of jerk!

Don't even try to drag Clemons into this! His performance has not wavered in 20 years. To be like Bonds, Clemons would have to all of a sudden start striking out 450 a year and going 38-3 on the season! Besides, others using steroids is irrelavant to Bonds. Weak argument!

Well old friend you and I both know that I am not a Bonds fan nor do I make excuses for him, in my mind The Hammer (Mr. Aaron not MC) will be the record holder. But I want 10 points so hear is my best Bonds excuse for why he isnt on steroids and how his numbers and body size double after the age of 36.

Recent studies of Barry Bonds DNA have found that he suffers from a rare disease. This affliction has only affected one person in the history of man so the name of said disease will be "Barry Bonds Sydrome" or BBS for short. BBS affects the human body in ways never seen before. What it does is causes the human body to go through puberty a second time strangely enough at the age of 36, causing the victim to have unprecidented muscle growth (mostly due to the hightened levels of testosterone) faster relfexes this comes the part of the disease which actually causes the body's aging process to first slow down and then actually reverse. The second onset of puberty can also explain the victim to seem to have a huge Ego and attitude problem because lets be honest what teenage boy have you ever met that doesnt have a huge ego and an attitude problem. No known cure for BBS has been found at the time but a special team put together by Bud Selig himself are on the case. At this time all we can do is comfort the poor, sad victim.

Each generation of baseball players has advantages or disadvantages over other eras. Walter Johnson and Cy Young pitched in the dead ball era. Babe Ruth never played against the best black players of his time. Josh Gibson mostly played in a barnstorming environment. Hank Aaron played during a time of league expansion which diluted the pitching talent in the league. Barry Bonds played in the steroids era.

The idea that you can actually compare statistics in baseball from one era to the next is based upon the concept that a player is on an even playing field with the other players of that era. With pitchers going strong into their 40's, and the tirades of pitchers such as Kenny Rogers, it's hard to say that pitchers are not taking steroids. I believe that we are still seeing a league where all players are on an equal playing field, although they are likely all drug enhanced. With an MLB drug policy in place, things are starting to subside, but they're not gone yet.

So, did Barry take enhancing drugs? DUH! Does it matter? NO! Nearly the entire league was taking them.

Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and Roberto Clemente hold no lifetime records, and yet, they are considered to be some of the greatest players ever in the game. Barry Bonds is in the same category with these guys. A true 5 tool player with over 500 SBs, 7 MVPs, and (enhanced or not) power. If it weren't for his challenging this record, we would be talking about Bonds along with these other great players. As it is, we are tearing this man down because he happened to be playing in an era when the commissioner and the league chose to ignore the impact of drug use on the game.

Am I a fan? I don't think I'd enjoy hanging out with this guy, but I'll drink with almost anybody. Nobody liked Ty Cobb, but it's hard not to respect his ability as a player. Bonds is a great player, with or without enhancing drugs.

This is for the 800 of you that post the same question 800 times a day. Since you so observant why hasnt anyone questioned the fact that at 100 years old Roger Clemens is bigger and better than he was at 50? Why is Arod the massively built slugger now? Why dont you Bonds haters accept that steroids when Bonds did them(Yes I believe he did no I do not care) they were not banned by MLB, so if they were not banned how did he cheat by taking them? Cant wait until you have something new to talk about!

SEE!!!People are always doing this....I AM A GIANTS FAN.I have learned to get over this kind of crap, over Barry...He got into the All Star Game because people actually wanted him in!Giants fans did it because no one else from the team got in and because we LOVE HIM!!!!Everybody else did it for the show or some other reason that seems legit.Even if he took steroids or not I still support him...He is gonna break history sooner or later! You're not supposed to bail on you're team!!If Alex Rodriguez took steroids, would all those girls still be chasing after him and mobbing him???Everyone would simply lay off it...Or maybe people are being predjudice against Bonds just cause he is a man of color...Well so is Hank Aaron and Willie Mays!!!ALL THOSE GREAT LEGENDS!!!Jackie Robinson!!!Well I am just going to leave it at that. That was the past..These steroid allegations are all in the past!!!Even if he did take steroids so what??Even though I do believe he took them,(no lie!)I still support him.Are you going to boo at some little kids who have Bonds shirts on their backs? They shouldn't know any better!!!THEY ARE JUST FANS!!!These steroid allegations are all in the past!!!So why bother with them?

Well, here we go again. I am not a Giants or a Bonds fan. In fact, I would be the first to agree, that as a person, he leaves a lot to be desired. He has no respect for other people, he blows of the press, fans, little kids, and his own teammates. There is no question in my mind that he is a jerk and I would love to see someone other than him knocking on the door to break Aaron's record. The problem is that none of us are judge and jury, have you ever heard of a basic right of all Americans called "Due Process"? He can not be guilty of anything unless he is found guilty in a court of law, and the fact is, no matter how hard they try, the grand jury that has been assigned to the Bonds case has not been given any evidence to consider to bring him to trial. You can say it is obvious, you can believe he did, you can think he must have, You can come up with any reasoning you want but all of us, in this country, are innocent until proven guilty and that has never occurred with Bonds. Until such time that they are able to come up with something to prove otherwise, Bonds is home free and should be given credit for all of his accomplishments and a great career. You can believe otherwise but it has absolutely no bearing with respect to Bonds. I would much rather have you agree that everyone, including Bonds, has basic rights in this country than to have your ten points.

Im just sick of seeing Bonds being treated like hes the worst guy in the world. First of all damn near everyone in baseball was on the juice in the 90s because baseball did nothing to stop it. Second of all, rape, DUI and assault seem to be weekly crimes in the sports world that hardly go reported and those guys get free passes.
Yes, I know Bonds doped, but he was the best one at it in an age where it was acceptable by MLB because they needed to to keep up with other sports.

I dont hear anyone booing Ryan Franklin or Rafeal Betancourt when they take the mound. If your going to stand for something... be consistent.

I'm a Barry Bonds fan and am accepting the obvious..... He took steroids and HGH, but these were prescription medications and LEGAL when he took them. MLB did not make them illegal or did not ban them at the time.

There are no "undetectible" drugs anyways because people are getting busted left and right for using them in all sports.....

Also, who cares about his body aging and getting bigger. It's called normal body growth when you get old..... Gravity pulls your tissues down and make you look bigger. Water retention and fat buildup are the culprits.....

We don't care about people who hate Barry Bonds. After he leaves the sport, these fake, bandwagon fans will have to find another scapegoat to tease and call names.....

He was never FOUND not convicted, of using steroids. As for the undetectable steroids, what are you talking about? Did you just make that up or something. That's crap. Babe played forever, and when he was old, he was crackin homeruns. Nothing is impossible when you are 36. The only thing Bonds takes is Vitamins. He was never a cheater in baseball. People need to stop annoying Bonds, when he never used them.

There you go.

Because people like you think that bashing Bonds 24/7 is the in thing to do. Plus some fans & the media act as if he's the only one accused of doing it. if he's so hated how come he was voted in the All Star game? Didn't the fans have a chance to prove how much they hate him by denying him? But yet they didn't. It's also funny how Met fans boo him but yet will cheer for Mota even though he was caught red handed which shows what hypocrites they are. Unless you where there when he injected himself there is no proof that he did it. It's for the court of law to decide.
