you should analyze its horns and inspect its fur for consistency before closing the deal. also check for "scars"........... some of these ram dealers can get a little curious.

yes. three slots is fine.
really depends on your mother board. (some won't read big memory, but you probably don't have a board that old)

I think if your considering adding more memory to boost your performance, you might want to just consider upgrading the whole thing. motherboard/cpu/memory

Ok first you have to figure out what type of ram you have. The speed of the ram. Like pc2100, PC2700, or 3200 and so forth. Second, yes you can go buy a 512mb and just stick it in. it will work fine. I myself would suggest buying 2 512mb sticks or 1gb stick. Once you find the speed supported by your motherboard, go out and buy it and your all set.

check your ram first is it Simms(30-72)pins or Dimms(168 -184 DDR or SDRAM) or Rimm(184 pins)newer version of ram and fastest (I think ), Make sure the ram you buy matches your motherboard speed, either 133 or 100 mhz, or you might have PC 2100/2700/2300 can use 184 pin DDRAM or SDRA, or else the ram would not be effusive,if its not matches your motherboard

Good Luck

Go to the store, pick up the one you like, pay, and take it home.
