I mean the Black people in America, why don't they care about their cultural background in Africa? Why don't they even talk about how great it is?

I'm thinking that your preceived "lack of interest" is instead a lack of resources.
Many black Americans (who are the descendents of slaves) cannot trace ANY roots back to Africa. When we were brough over here on slave ships, we were separated from our families and our tribes. If we spoke our native language, we were severely punished to the point where it just was not worth it. We were forced to leave all of our rich culture, practices and rituals behind by the hand of the white man.
Knowing exactly where we came from is a luxury millions of black Americans do not have. It's not that we don't care. We don't have a starting point.

This is a generalizing questions. Their are a lot of people who care for the cultural background in Africa, most just don't talk about it or don't know how to get involved. Secondly, just because your black doesn't mean you automatically from Africa. Finally, their are plenty of people in American besides black that don't give a thought or care what is happening to their cultural background or heritage. Besides, most people represent their nationality not heritage in today's society.

Why do you even need to ask? You are generalizing first of all. I love my roots from Africa but I have no idea what country my family came from. Black people were originally brought here as slaves, so we dont all know what part of Africa we originated from. Africa is a HUGE continent. Second of all, since I was born in the United States, I just learned to realize that I am American. Also, not all of Black peo0ple are form Africa: some are Caribbean, Haitians, Cubans etc. But all of our roots are to Africa. To make a long story short, you are generalizing all of us are the same and we are not. You are also saying that we should know where we came from in Africa like all Africans are the same and like we came from the same country in Africa! That like asking an African man "Do you speak African?" and not whatever language his people speak! Your question is ignorant.

I'm glad YOU care and think African is a good place. Most black people in America can't say they're full African because they're not. Black people in America are mostly white-washed black people (have white in their family). I, however, do care about Africa and think that black people should invest in the Motherland and stop buying al this jewelry and all these cars. I'm only half black and I haven't been to Africa a day in my life but I bet I rep Africa more than people whose parents are both black. Alot of black people are ignorant, to tell you the truth, so, that's part of the reason too.

The black people I know are very much interested in their cultural background. From music to arts to history teachings, etc. The blacks who aren't that interested were probably not introduced to the subject.

Stop the generalizing and stop accepting answers from white people about black people. Rude!

They don't know what country in Africa their ancestors were from. There are too many cultures to name in Africa so which one are they supposed to celebrate.

I care about it. I know quite a bit about Africa & its history & I've been studying all the ancient history that was lost, esp to the African Americans.

Well, I think because not ALL black people are from Africa! You're making an ASSUMPTION! I'm not saying your racist, but you are being narrow minded.

Why does it bother you that people aren't concerned about THEIR heritage!
