if you like the name then use it, don't worry about future children as yet, you could have a boy next time.

Alysia and Kaitlyn and both nice names, I'd just pick Alysia i think eventually people would drop the Kaitlyn or shorten it to Kate. She might not want to write both everytime she writes her name. Unless you have it as a middle name.
Don't worry about it sounding like your name you might have a boy next and you can't worry about such tiny things, your child won't be thinking like that.

I personally think that Alysia sounds nothing like Alice. If that is the name that you like call her it - if you have other kids and they get jealous of their sisters name then you need to tell the other child not to be so silly and there is many other things to be concerned with! (it's a cute name.. go for it!)

I think Alysia is a great name. You can always do what I did. Each one of my girls are named after someone in the family. Although, none of them are named after me (eventhough I'm the one that carried them for 9 months and gave birth to them drug free and take care of them when they are sick and/or upset LOL). But each one of them have a neat story to go with how they got their names so they all feel special.

yes very nice ,I was christened Alice but called ALICIA I find that people usually like names that either start or end the same eg. supposing you liked names beginning with ' a' then it is most likely you will call any other children you may have names that start with a 'a' so there would not be a problem you could also include grandparents name as a middle name that would link them all up and they would have something in common good luck with your forthcoming birth and new baby .

Its a lovely name - there are other ways of letting subsequent children feel special - my eldest is named after a song and shares my middle name. My youngest daughter's middle name is the name of another song and I picked her first name because I really liked it despite a lot of people saying at the time they thought it was old fashioned. My son is named after a motor sport competitor that my husband really liked and his middle name is his daddy's name. If my son had been a girl his middle name would have been his paternal grandmothers surname so they can all feel special in their own way.

I don't think that's too close to your name. Allison would have sounded more like your name.
Alysia is a really pretty name and I like the way you spelled it. Unique and not too weird. But, on the same page, some people will probably pronounce it as Elijah. If you don't think that will be an issue, you're good as gold!

Chances are that your children to follow won't even realize it let alone give 2 hoots about it.
I was planning to name my daughter after her grandmother Alice.... I was going to name her Dallas or even Dalyssa. But for other reasons I ended up naming her Delaney Leanne (Leanne is after myself, my mother and my grandmother) all of my kids have a family name for a middle name... you could always pick another member of the family for future children.

My last name is Aliesha, and my twin sisters are called Alyssa and Alicia, we have a double barrol name and they do have middle names so it doesn't sound too bad. But anyway, all three names relate back to Alice, even Aleesha and Aliesha, they are all forms ot if in seom form or other.
And I want to make it clear, you do not say my name as Aleesha, its A-lie-sha, its a lot more posh.
