block off the area around the deck and put his cage up to one away that is not blocked in and sometime they will hop back in to an area they are comfortable with.

Make a safe rabbit trap - when he goes for the carrot he gets trapped in a box. It's an old trick from Bugs Bunny cartoons. Works like a charm, but you have to get the rabbit out before he can dig out from under the trap.

Get a long fishing dip net. That's the way we grab our rabbits up when they get out. You might also get a long pole to help coax it out. Domestic rabbits can normally run faster than people but they can't run for real long without tiring. If you aren't fast enough, it will eventually tire and you will catch it.

But a dip net makes catching the rabbit a lot easier. It helps if you have one or two people helping you. They can scare or run it over in your direction to dip net it up.

A live trap might work, but it will take longer and it will cost a lot more than a dip net will. And in the meantime, your rabbit is a target for predator animals.
