"let you in"............... hmmmmm. that kinda confuses me.
we are talking about sharing files right? well, if so,

ping each other and if thats good......................

I'm sure you've already done this, but right click on the directory you wish to share and choose sharing and security to share it.

check "my network places" if you still can't see each other................

make sure your in the same network, ahem, sorry I ment workgroup.

control panel - system - computer name - click "change" to make sure the workgroups match on both computers

you have both computers hooked through an Ethernet cord? Did you download the software to both computers? If not, make sure you do that or else it wont work.

If you have wireless then you don't have to load on the software. All you need is the WEP key a 26 letter code you get from your package. You can change it also just call the 24-hour 1-800 number and ask them for the code to change your WEP

If you don't have wireless and you have downloaded the software you may need to call the 800 number. You should have something that says diagnose problem. there it should say aritcle 14(or whatever number) go to yahoo and type in error article 14(or wutever) and it should tell you how to fix it.

On the computer you are trying to access you have to set the target drive to be shared on the local network,

on said 2nd computer:
Control Panel > Network/Sharing > Right click desired drive to be shared > allow.
