Yes it does, infact the greater the swing between chaos and harmony, and the more often the swing occurs, the stronger the economy becomes. This is the nature of business, and if you want to know what precisely the nature of business is, and why it is like that, watch the film "The Corporation" on DVD or VHS as soon as possible. There has only been one film in my life that scared me more, and it was an R (18+) rated horror I saw at a party when I was less than 10 years old. The Corporation is possibly the most convincing argument ever made that corporations are required by law to be text book villains, evil to the core. The economy doesn't just thrive on war, stakeholders seek it out, drag it out as long as possible, and have minions seeking out new wars to fight elsewhere even before the current one is finished. It is this "PATHOLOGICAL PERSUIT OF PROFIT AND POWER" that the film writers have medically diagnosed as "CRIMINALLY INSANE" with a low probability of recovery, ever, using the World Health Organisation mental condition characteristics checklist. It's all in the movie!

This is a historically correct statement. The interesting point is not the fact that war = healthy economy, it is healthy industry = healthy economy. The Department of Defense (DoD) purchases most of its materials from domestic sources due to security considerations. These companys manufacture goods in our own borders. Of course, they hire people, buy materials, etc. Buy inside your own borders and there is prosperity inside your own borders. These are also manufacturers who are less likely to outsource overseas, a rare thing these days.

There are those who disbeleive this fact, history does bear it out. Perhaps if all citizens of the United States did the same thing then the tie between war and prosperity would be more blurred...

Our economy is thriving but it has lttle to do with the war and much to do with the tax cuts but don't worry the Dems are going to sabotage that too.
