Anyone who blindly follows what either party stands for is an uninformed lemming. One may choose a party but there will always be ideals within you party that you disagree with and ideals of the other party which you do.

You need to become better informed about the issues that this country is facing and how it is being managed. Then you will see that the parties do have differences and they are significant.

What type of earnings are being taxed more and what type less?
What parts of the budget are being cut or increased and what government functions will that change?
What foreign policies have we changed and how will those countries react?

I agree that some people treat their political affiliation like it was a sports team - but that doesn't make the underlying differences between parties go away - it just means they aren't informed.

I got tired of it quite awhile ago. Its time for a moderate revolution and wrestle the government back from the hands of extremists.

Im not sure how extremists think they are doing anything of any benefit either. Extreme litany never convinces others to join your side, it only engenders the hatred of those who disagree with you. Rational and logical debate is the only true path towards a healthy democracy.
We moderates and independents should work together to gain consensus for policy. Not use policy as a weapon against the manufactured enemy just to get re-elected.

I think most of us are disgusted with both parties. The people who scream and yell about the other party are just extremists and you'll never change their minds. The best thing we can all do is make sure you don't give any money to politicians and vote for third party candidates when appropriate. If we all did that, maybe the jerks would get the hint and tone it down a few hundred notches.

I agree we cant even talk to each other without using personal insults and opinions rather than facts. We are deeply divided It is easy to blame Bush but I wont Bush bash on this particular post. We need a uniter this is why Obama is so apealing, people already have an opinion of Hillary and many are negative and positive it would continue the divide. Obama is fresh ready to unite us. I agree with you. While it's important that we have at least two parties, the success or failure of our "party" shouldn't be as important as the success or failure of our COUNTRY. Everytime a Republican calls Democrats "communists," or a Democrat calls Republicans "fascists," or one or the other goes along giving thumbs-down for what you believe and not just how you present it, we really insult our fellow citizens and undermine the country we think OUR party can save.

he warned the country in his farewell address of politcal factions, and parties separating the country.

You have two interest groups vying for the affection of the majority which is not like either one of them.

If the majority was like one, the other would not exist.

What fun would that be?

If you're using Y!A as a gauge, then don't. It attracts political extremists and is not a good guage.
