Right I am building a stange in a house for a mega party we are organising. I have been put in charge of erecting a stage on a budget. The only thing i can think of using for the base of the stage would be wooden pallets, used for transporting large materials in building sites/markets ect. i don't know where to get them from i have tried the obvious outlets i.e. homebase and also new Covent garden market. If someone knows where i can buy or 'borrow' some of these precious objects from an invite to said party may come your way.

Try your local builders yard - they usually have loads of spares.

A lot of companies that do shipping will have a pile of pallets with a "free" sign on them, either by the roadside or next to their dumpster. Ask at places like that (even motorcycle stores) because they end up paying for them to go in the trash and so would be delighted if you took them without making a mess in their lot.

Try local building sites, most builders can't wait to get rid of them because they tend to be in the way and fill up skips too quickly. If they don't have any they'll most probably save them for u.

Try your local landfill. I have gone there routinely to obtain these pallets for the lumber. I'm sure you'll find plenty out there

good luck with your party
