You go to the bank you have a checking account with. You bring the check you have with you, as well as your driver's license. You go up to the customer service desk. You tell them you would like to deposit your check, but don't know your account number. They will do the rest.

When you first walk into the bank you are going to fill out a deposit ticket. (ask an associate to help you filling out the deposit ticket.) on the deposit ticket you are going to write the date, amount of the check , your name sometimes they require your adrees, where it says to put your account number, since you don't know it, leave it blank. Sign the back of the check and make sure you have your bank's atm card with you. after you complete the deposit ticket take it with the check to the teller line and provide them with it and the atm card. They can locate your account number with that atm card they might ask you to put in your pin number as well it all depens on the bank. You should still bring your id with you. If you don't have an atm they can still locate your account number with two pieces of id for you they will also ask you a few security questions to make sure that it's your account. Good Luck.

You'll have to the sign the check the same way it's written to you and then write your acct number under it.
Your acct number is on the bottom of your check. There are three sets of numbers: identify one as the check number, the other at the routing number (will be 9 digits long), & the other number is your acct number.
At the back of your checkbook you'll find deposit slips.
The bank teller will help you if it's not done right.
If it's a savings account, you'll need to get a savings deposit slip from the teller & they'll help you locate your acct number.

I have never heard of PNC. I have a regular checking account in a bank. In order to deposit, you must have a checking account in which to deposit.

Go to your nearest bank and see if you are eligible to open an account. Some banks require you to keep a minimum amount in the account, some don't. You will need personal ID.
If approved, you will get a supply of checks and deposit slips with the account number printed on both. You will also get a record-keeping book in which to keep track of checks written and received.

If check-writing and receiving will not be ongoing for you, why don't you just cash the check and be done with it?

They can look up your account number. Take a deposit slip or fill one out from the stack of blanks on the counter. Endorse the check (sign the back) and the teller will deposit

if PNC is a bank then all you have to do is fill out a deposit slip and they can find your account # for you. you can also add your SSN to the deposit slip and they will help them as well. if you need any help just go up to a banker and ask. that is what they get paid for.

When you enter a bank, you'll find a table/shelf containing slips. Pick a Deposit Slip and fill it up. They are usually labeled by colors even if the slip names are clear. There is a check-box option if you'll be depositing cash or cheque.

After you fill it up, fall in line to a teller. The teller should give you a recieve slip or should show you it is added in your bankbook.

That's how I understand it. Just trying to help. :D

Goodluck!

You HAVE to know your account number, thats how the check gets into your account!
For the first time, I would go to the bank, and talk to someone in customer service, they will walk you through step by step! Remember if you make a mistake, your money could wind up in someone elses account! Talk to your bank for help, thats what you PAY them to do!
