Mixed race friendships are pretty much a fact of life for a lot of people (and, thus, there's little stigma against it). Mixed race marriages are also becoming more common, but since marriage entails a different sort of relationship than general friendships do, there's a lot more riding on that sort of commitment (and, thus, there's less receptiveness to it). Certainly, in some parts of the country, mixed race marriages are more common and more accepted...in others, they're still looked down upon or with vexing expressions. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it...but mixed race couples probably face certain challenges same-race couples don't. I think Asian-Caucasian couples or Hispanic-Caucasian couples face less problems than other combinations...just my 2 cents.

I think the biggest reason this is considered questionable by most reasonable people is the pressure that can be put on the relationship by other peoples opinion of it. There are people out there that believe that is some type of major problem and take it personally. The bottom line is, if you have this type of relationship and can keep others opinions from bothering you or putting pressure on the relationship go for it. It's still your life and if you find someone who can make you happy make your own choice. Life is too short to let it be dictated by others.

The only thing that really matters is LOVE, real Love, and love doesn't understand the races, the sexes, the religions, the cultures. If two people feel love, nothing really matters. There are no differences that could be an obstacle.

I don't understand why you ask how long it last? surely the answer is how long is a piece of string, I'm sure "their" friendship's and marriages would have the same chance of lasting or finishing as any other couple/friends. It's more about the people inside who they are, how suited, etc. I don't see what relevance the colour of their skin has!

I'm white and my fiance is black. Our plan is to make it last forever and have a child very soon, and we both believe we'll make it together 'till the end of our lives;)..So, I see no reason at all why it should be questionable in the first place!

Well my partner is fully white and I am mixed with black and white. In the beginning people kind of looked at us funny(that could be because were gay but I have no idea) but after a while you get used to it. LOL

It's people, just people, why can't you understand that. Forty years ago in the Southern USA if a woman went out with a Catholic the burning crosses came out. Enough already, the world is changing accept it and get with the program.
