If a woman hires a hitman (or hit person) to bump off a rival or her old man, generally the law takes a dim view of her action. People who claim that abortion is an actual 'murder' generally are not inclined haul the lady in question into court and charge her with a crime. This needs to be discussed. The law should be consistant. If abortion isn't 'murder', then what's all the fuss?

It's been shown that making abortion illegal does not stop abortions from happening, it just makes it more dangerous for the mother. There are situations where having a child could destroy a woman's life. For example if a 16 year old girl gets pregnant, or if someone can't afford another child. Putting premeditated murder on par with abortion is a distortion of real life. Especially considering how often a woman's own body will kill her child, and how often a child can kill it's mother.

well, its because abortion is not legally murder. someone has to be a legal person for it to be murder, and you aren't a legal person until you're born. Beside the fact that doing such a thing would mean admitting that as far as our government is concerned, American women have no value other than as an incubator.
"Oh yes ma'am, you are a citizen, with full rights over your body and your life. that is, until you get pregnant. then your body and your life are the fetus's to dictate, and it isn't even able to use conscious thought! but buck up you get to be a mommy, whether you wanted to or not!"
you know, for those of you advocating imprisoning women who have had abortions, you wanna know who else did that? the Third Reich. it was policy in Nazi Germany to treat abortions as murder because you were not giving birth to more cannon fodder. so just keep on goosestepping right on to those pro-life dead baby picture protests. Actually, abortion isn't murder. It's an act of self defense to rid the body of a dangerous parasite that could ruin a woman's career, or her ability to party without any worries about consequences.

Until the laws change and abortion becomes illegal, this won't happen. It would be pretty silly to allow legal abortions and yet charge the woman who got one with a crime. The federal government should overturn Roe v Wade and let the state's decide.

Imprisoning women who have abortions (without exceptions for rape or those whose life would be endangered by carrying a pregnancy to term) is in fact the Republican platform, although not many people know that. That is the logical conclusion of the claim that a fetus is a human being.

Noah H, you are a dum-dum. A woman has every right to do what she wants with her body. I do not believe in abortion but if it is necessary then a woman with her doctor must have the right to make that decision. This is supposedly a free country. Should we imprison a woman for doing as she sees fit?

Abortion is murder in the eyes of God. There are more than the woman at fault though, such as the father and the abortion doctor.If the abortion clinic were closed down there would be far less abortions.

Why stop there why not Prison time for women who get pregnant out of wedlock and prison for the men that got them that way? Sound as fair as your idea, Why not have people get a permit to have children, you could put birth control in the tap water and may it a crime to sell the antidote, this would stop all abortions.
