Good question.
First of all, this is seen even for other countries except Aussies. When teams like Sa, Eng, WI, Nz, etc come to India or any other country, they dont perform good.
The Reasons:
* - A shepherd knows his flock d best - that is y India know Indian conditions, England know English conditions, etc. so if you are playing as visitors there is a very good cricket being played by the hosts except if they are minnow-type teams (eg Ban, Zim, Ireland).
* - Get used 2 it as fast as possible - Its tough for visiting teams tog et used to foreign climate, temperature etc. Especially when Indian team which experiences hot, humid climate at home goes to England - a country with low temp and rainfall 365 days a year.

Indian batsmen struggle when they play out of India because the conditions in the other countries are different. The pitches are different, favourable for swing bowling. In India conditions are completely opposite to these conditions.

The pitches in other countries are tailor made for their fast bowlers. The climate is favourable to the local players whereas it is not so for our players especially colder climate.Naturally crowd support for the local team will be considerably more. As we do not have genuine fast bowlers we are not able to use the pitch conditions. This fact can be seen from the good performance of Zahirkhan who is playing county ckt in England. As for our batsmen those who have previous playing experience in such conditions are able to manage to some extent.Others are struggling.

Indian batsmen are used to play in the flat pitches in India. When they go abroad, the pitches will be fast and bouncy and the weather also will be entierely difference. They find it difficult to get adjusted to the fast pitches and the weather conditions when they tour outside India.

My friend, Indian batsman never struggles when playing out of India.
Its the captain of India that stuggles.
When a captain stuggles then, the whole Indian team will fall down.

b'coz outside india u geta variety of pitches..which is obviously a big dis-advantage in India..coz the players get mostly slow pitches...i think they must take some initiative to improve this condition or else India will never be able to transform itself into some one like australia..although India has every potential toi do it!!!!!

They don't struggle as much but it takes time to get used to to the bouncy pitches in foreign countries if you know what I mean.

its the same situation for evey country,
the reason is becasue player train in their own country which has a unique type of pitch compared to other countries.
and when these same players go abroad to play a match, the pitch condtions are different and therefore they find it hard to adjust.
