It seems that some people are getting the idea that if they read something on Yahoo!Answers it is the truth and counts as evidence. It's just rumour and speculation. Give me some hard facts when throwing your accusations around.

Never believe stories nor statistics told here.

It's a well known fact that 89.5% of statistics are made up on the spot!

Hi Skidoo
Dave s usually gives a source and while I might not agree with the things he says lately I know his credentials are trustworthy, but a lot of what's said is just people attempting to be seen to be clever enough to join his gang. The question earlier about were the McCanns involved in the abductions of Sarah, Holly and Jessica for example is the reason I rarely participate in this discussion anymore. It isn't always factual, it does nothing to help Madeleine and too many of the 'anti McCanns' are fond of saying either 'you must agree with child neglect then' or 'if you don't like what we say find another category' you can't have a reasonable debate with that sort of mind set

I have noticed that some people start a suggestion, which quickly gets taken as fact and is repeated weeks down the line, as truth.

YA is the same as TV and Newspapers, take a little bit of the truth and mix with a play on words

If someone posts a link to either an article posted on the internet on a news site (such as sky news) or they say exactly where they read the article (for example they mention the newspaper and date), then I dont see the problem.

If someone posts a story on here, usually people request a link quickly if there isn't one already.

Most of the posters I hold in a high regard back up everything they say with links.

Some link to blogs which to me means very little as a blog is just somones take on things but many link to news reports.

Nah course not - anyone who believes 100% what they read/hear/see anywhere in press or gossip is a bit nuts in my opinion......

Sometimes i do, but you know yourself what sounds factual, and what is not...you get a feel for a story...and you know what to take seriously and what to disregard.

I don't believe everything I read on Y/A, but it will often prompt me to go verify things for myself.
I imagine it's the same for many others.
