The notion that there would or will never be American boots on the ground in the middle east, the jugular vein of the world's economy, is short sighted.
Look at the countries that the US has invaded. Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea as examples. Those happened fifty or more years ago and there are US troops still in every one of them. The US left two countries. Viet Nam and there were 3 Million deaths as a result. The Philippines and now it is a hornet's nest of terrorists of every description. They are actually competing for training grounds there and practicing their craft on Christian missionaries.
The US military will be in the middle east long after you're dead. Whether it's right or wrong or if you like it or not, make your peace with that reality.

I hope the coalition stays in Iraq until we achieve victory. I am totally opposed to cut and run. That will solve nothing.
