I wouldn't suggest it - if your period is very heavy it can show through your swimsuit throughout the day. You should not wear a pad in the pool - it will swell up like a diaper. Maybe it's time to start using tampons - they don't hurt, they can be worn in the pool, and it doesn't mean you aren't a virgin anymore or anything like that (I've heard this from numerous young girls). Get help from your mom (or another woman you trust) if you need it

You can't. Sorry, but that's the facts. Pads will absorb the water instead of the flow, and let's just say, it won't look very nice.

I ran into a similar problem. I got my period while at the beach once, and I didn't use tampons yet either. My mom taught me how to use them, but it was really uncomfortable (the first time)... Tampons take a while to get used to, so I would politely decline on the pool visit today... Meanwhile ask you mom (or another trusted female) to teach you how to use a tampon, so that you can swim next time!

Good luck!

Tampons are inside of you. A pad would just soak up the pool water and then no longer work. Just buy some tampons and force yourself to use them. Trust me it's so worth it. Feels like you dont even have your period.

Tampons or diva/moon cup or no swimming.

You CANNOT swim with a pad on! Come on and think about that. A pad soaks up ALL liquids (that includes WATER) and will only serve as a diaper and the menstrual flow will STILL go into the water and it will be very unsanitary.

You can use pads because they absorb water the minute you jump in and then cannot absorb your blood. (Then you could end up BLEEDING IN THE POOL) They also swell up like a diaper. No tampon=no pool.

Water DOES NOT stop a period. it just washes away the blood.

b/c you can see a pad and it will make the pad all puffed up from the water. I would say just use a tampon today and after you get down swimming you can use a pad again. I hope you have fun swimming.

the pad shows in the bathing suit and the pad will suck up the water and get bulky and wont stick to the bathing suit. tampons are prettier when swimming.

ewww..that's gross. I suggest you wait until you don't have your period anymore to go swimming. The pad is gunna soak up all the water and be very uncomfortable, plus it's so obvious under a bathing suit..save yourself the embaressment.
