Hard to tell this early in the race BUT I sincerely hope it is no one who has fashioned themselves as a clone of either Bush or Clinton.

Well, I'll support the candidate who says "If it does not support or defend the constitution, it should not be a law." Right now, the closest two candidates to that are Ron Paul, and Fred Thompson.

All of the other candidates believe that the way to fix something is to make a new law. I mean, let's have a quick look. There is now a federal law that is supposed to "fix" the Methamphetamine problem. In this law, everyone is limited to how much psudoephedrine that they can buy at a time, and all those medications that contain it are locked up in the pharmacy with the real drugs. So, if you get out there and you or your child comes down with a cold, it had better be between 9am and 7pm - because after the pharmacy closes, you can't get cold medicine.

And yet, there is still a problem with methamphetamine... Hmmm. Let's take a look at government logic.

A soccer mom somewhere says "Wow, I don't want my kids to get their hands on that Meth stuff. I'd better call my congressman! This is a big problem!"

(big problem? in a 2004 survey 0.2 percent of people over the age of 12 reported using meth in the previous month...) (ref#1)

Government knows that Meth is made by cooking a bunch of chemicals plus psudoephedrine. Government guy says "wow, we can't outlaw all that stuff, but maybe if we make one of the key ingredients harder to get we'll control the problem".

So, the government's solution? Make it harder for the 298 MILLION 'non meth users' to get cold medicine.

Does that make sense to you? Not to me, it doesnt. The people who make METH are not buying the psudoephedrine. They're stealing it, or, if they are buying it, they're buying it from overseas... But Government (Nanny State, anyone?) wants to take care of this problem by inconveniencing the 298 million law abiding citizens....

So, My Vote goes to the politician who wants to get OUT of my life, not deeper into it.

Is there any way to answer this question without getting a negative rating?

But to answer the question I believe it will be Hilliary. She has put more effort in becoming president. Not that Obama hasn't but we have seen more of Hilliary planning and campaigning for this election (pretty much since Bill took office the first time). It wouldn't surprise me if Obama was elected but I just think it's going to be Hillary. What I do know is that it won't be a republican. I don't want to get into whether or not Bush is good or not but I do know that a lot of people hate him and after two terms something tells me that the next president will be a democrat. Lots of people hate Hilliary too but most people who are middle of the road are ready for a democrat to be president. I think the republicans have lost a lot of the middle-of-the-road votes. The only republican candidate who is qualified is Giuliani and he can not beat Hilliary.

Note: I'm republican.

I think that Giuliani will win. While I'm not fond of his lefter-leaning social views, he has enough popularity to reach across the board and unite America under a president who everybody can like. Hillary/Obama are too socialist/have too many enemies and Fred Thompson is your typical GOP candidate and won't get enough votes to secure the presidency.

not sure I'm leaning toward Mc Cain.

I don't think Hillary will even make it past the Primary against Obama, I live in a very liberal city and she only got 11% of the vote. I think she is too extreme for most people.

I am personally hoping for a Huckabee/Thompson ticket. I think that they have the best chance of uniting Republicans and Moderates to defeat the Democrats.
