Liberal activists are stepping up their campaign against Fox News Channel by pressuring advertisers not to patronize the network.

MoveOn.org, the Campaign for America's Future and liberal blogs like DailyKos.com are asking thousands of supporters to monitor who is advertising on the network. Once a database is gathered, an organized phone-calling campaign will begin, said Jim Gilliam, vice president of media strategy for Brave New Films, a company that has made anti-Fox videos.

The groups have successfully pressured Democratic presidential candidates not to appear at any debate sponsored by Fox, and are also trying to get Home Depot Inc. to stop advertising there.

At least 5,000 people nationwide have signed up to compile logs on who is running commercials on Fox, Gilliam said. The groups want to first concentrate on businesses running local ads, as opposed to national commercials.

I think it is their right to try it.

I think anyone who loves our country and free speech should do just the opposite in response.

Well, the christian coalition and family research council and other con groups have been doing this for years, writing to companies that advertise on Ellen, Will and Grace, Queer as Folk, etc. etc. etc.
Now they'll probably start a campaign against CNN. So silly.
There really is no liberal tv news station. Just some lib hosts, like Keith Olbermann. But CNN has Glenn Beck, too, so to say CNN is a liberal station is far-fetched. I'm lib and I have to look elsewhere for lib news, not much on TV.
I like to watch Fox when they're talking about real news because I can see the hole in their (Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, etc.) arguments. But do I think FOX is a fair and balanced news channel? They try, but no.
CNN and MSNBC also try, but also no.

If it runs on Fos I will buy it and support those business's that have the smarts to stick with a truthfull network like fox. I think that is the dumbest attempt at a blockaid that I have ever heard and I hope that the business's that are affected are alllowed to sue the owners of the websight and everyone involved with this scandel.

This just proves that many liberals don't care about anything but what they want. They make every effort to ignore reality and what is right. Fox News isn't aligned with a political party like all the others are. That irritates them greatly because they don't have control over what they say. Many liberals are playing right into the devil's hand. Once again, this is another instance of good vs. evil.

It won't work. Unless the viewer ratings change, the fact is that advertisers follow numbers.

I think it is a pitiful attempt to intimidate advertisers, and I hope it won't work.

I also hope it will be seen for the hypocritical intimidation tactic it is. And the same liberals who criticize Fox claim they are for free speech. What hypocrisy!

Conservatives organize boycotts of businesses all the time. It doesn't "intimidate" businesses, it's part of the free market system. I can't get excited about it one way or another. But it's still a free country and people can boycott whomever they want.

I think it's a free country.. if you don't like what they are doing tell them to stuff it or mind your own business.. either way you are exercising the same rights they are.
