My dr told me it was okay to have dentist xrays- as long as you don't have like 15 of them taken in one day. The bib they put on you (which I hope they did) blocks out enough radiation that you should be fine. If you are really worried about it call the dentist or your dr. You did tell the dentist you were pg, right?

Normally, an xray technician will put a lead apron on you even if you are not pregnant (or do not know you are) "just in case". I am assuming that either they did that, or it was the kind of xray machine that you insert your head into and it rotates around your head, taking the pictures. In either of those events, you should be safe.
If your developing baby was exposed to radiation, you definitely need to alert your doctor. S/he can explain the risks to you. If you are unsure, consult your dentist and request your records.
Several months before I got pregnant, I had to go in for an xray of my foot. Because we were TTC, they did a pregnancy test right then (I was at a lab, not a doctor's office and had never had this occur before). The test was negative, and they did the xray. I still had the lead apron on, and the machine was focused on my foot. Yet, they told me had the test been positive (or if I had already known I was pregnant), they would not have done the xray at all.
I wish you the best! Just consult your doctor and dentist, but I am certain all will be fine.

Dental x-rays emit less radiation than you would get from flying in an airplane that is going at the usual 35000 feet and exposed to the usual background cosmic rays.
Actually when you are flying most of your body is not covered by a lead apron the way it is in a dental x-ray so the airplane is an even worse exposure.
But both are negligible and have no impact anyway.

The radiation from a dental x-ray is soooo low, that it poses practically no risk at all. The reason dentists won't normally do them when you are pregnant is just to be cautious. The chances of something bad resulting from them are very very minute. I wouldn't worry about it. Please don't get worked up over posts that say they are harmful (people around here are such alarmists). Read this article instead: http://www.babycenter.com/expert/pregnancy/isitsafe/9214.html

depends how far along you are and how many xrays they took. but my doc said it was fine to get xrays on my leg and arm while pregnant although my other doc wouldn't do them. very slight consequences.

X-rays are actually pretty bad for a baby. Depending on what your doctor tells you; the baby could be of risk of birth defects. Just get yourself checked out. Good Luck.

Did you not tell them you are pregnant? Did they not put a cover over you? You should see a doctor for any concerns.
