If your concerned about fuel efficiency...buy a car that is...wait for it... more fuel efficient. Other than that all you can do is drive more conservatively. Less on the gas and less on the brakes. Be patient it will eventually get up to speed, just in time to start coasting down to a stop.

It depends on what you own. Obviouslly a bigger engine the worse the gas mileage. Keep the oil changed, change the oil, air, and tranny filter. Also change the fuel filter if needed. Filters get clogged and restrict a lot. A "tune-up" may also be in order. Check the spark plugs and wires also. I could keep going because there are many things that come into play. Again it all depends on what you are driving. All the things I listed are all proper maintnence issues. Good luck.

Drive slowly. Buy a car that gets high has mileage like a Chevy Aveo. Inflate your tires properly.
