Jack. These don't represent any personalities, but the sort of pure, happy-go-lucky main character type is Jack. Alex is a member of German boy band. These are MY first impressions, both names are just fine.

That's a tough one. I really like both. I think I like Jack the best though. As for personalities, I'm not sure. I think Jack is more outgoing and friendly and a leader, but I may just be thinking of a Jack that I know. The only Alex I know is a girl, but I don't like the name for a girl, I think it should be a boys name. I think of an Alex as a little more reserved than Jack.

I would have his name be Jackson, and call him Jack. I don't like the name Alex however. But I think the name Jackson / Jack is adorable! The only problem I can find with him being named Jack is that he could be called "Lumber Jack" his whole life..... Anyway, Jack just means "A varient of Jackson" And Jackson means "Son of Jack".... Alex means "Man's defender, warrior"... So if you go by meaning, Alex has a better meaning, but Jack or Jackson is cuter! The only Alex I know is really nice, but that doesn't mean your Alex won't be annoying.... :o)

Jack- I have 2 girls, if I ever had a boy it would be Jack. Jack is a cute little boy's name and a strong man's name. Alex is more of only a child's name I think.

Jack to me means easy going funny...Alex is more serious is this Alexander and Alex for short? Alex seems better when he grows up. You could even do Alec instead of Alex. I like Jake better than Jack...sorry Whatever you decide will be just fine.

I like jack because Alex could be a girl or a boy name and it seems to be more common.

Both are nice names, but Alex sounds very much like a nickname to me. I'd prefer Alexander nn Alex. Therefore, Jack gets my vote!
The two names seem to go together well, so I picture the same characteristics for both names: hard working, polite, well-mannered, sweet, smart, clean cut boys.

My brother is called Jack so that's my favourite of the 2. Jack is cheeky and quick witted, loves to laugh and make people laugh. My brother is only 4 but he's so bright and mature for his age, he shows my 7 & 8 year old cousins up bless him. I think its a lovely name!! Definately better than Alex!
