It has nothing to do with the speed of light or the speed of sound. The answer is probably because, in most televisions, the audio circuitry is less complex then the video circuitry. The voltage doesn't have to stabilze as much for the audio circuit. Also, if your television has a conventional picture tube, the high voltage section has to "power-up" before delivering the voltage to the picture tube...

That's because the delay in the case of the TV is not due to any difference in speed. Light and sound are both fast enough and the distance between you and a TV is small enough that to your perception the speed may as well be infinite. The delay is actually due to the TV itself. Some kinds of TVs are built such that it takes a while for them to light up their screens but the sound system can come on immediately, and so that's what they do. I doubt it would be difficult to build a TV that deliberately delayed the sound until the picture came on, but people simply don't bother doing that, probably because it's useful to have a sound to let you know immediately that the TV is in fact on.

This has absolutely nothing to do with light or sound waves. We hear sound first because the TV screen takes time to warm and power up. The speakers do not need this time. That's all.

Because the electronic systems operate in different ways. If you have an old TV it takes time for the emitter tube to warm up enough to start generating a picture, but the speakers operate immediately.

because the tube on your t.v. needs to warm up before it shows a picture has nothing to do with the speed of light

Both the picture and the sound are parts of the radio frequency that is transmitted to your TV.
The modulated signal is split into video and sound INSIDE your set.

because it takes a few secs for cathode to warm to the necessary temp. that's for crt tvs

i don't know exactly for plasma tvs, but it has to something simlar
