I was thinking of going to the supermaket, but it might be a tad crowded. You can't avoid them if you tried.....

I think it sad that you are so uncompassionate that you use the fact that some people need food stamps to survive to take a slap at Liberals. I do hope no one in your family goes through hard times and has to count on the approximately $20 a week that the government supplies. I hardly think most recipients are stocking up on fillet Mignon at that price. I guess the fact that I teach at a low income school makes me a little more cognizant of the fact that there are kids in America that are food deprived despite all the "government handouts" you seem to think they are getting. If that makes me a liberal - so be it.

How about "Victims of Liberal Government Day"? Can you imagine what a wonderful country we would have if welfare had never been put in place? People would have been FORCED to go to work all these years - no ghettos, lower crime, better schools, better society all together. I am forever appalled at the fact that liberals actually victimize people who are poor instead of instilling laws that assist people to better themselves. They are twisted.

Sure. But most of the food stamp recipients live in Red States. And here's something that shows that your ideology is nonsense:

"Food stamps, agricultural subsidies create strange coalitions in House Liberals, greens back Bush; Pelosi aligns with [red-state] conservatives"

Sure! I mean.. I know this is supposed to be a crack against Liberals with your trying to link the date to Food Stamps and what not.. but it would back fire on you and in the end bring about more liberals. So I say go for it.

Yes! But instead of liberal awareness day, how about Bleeding Heart of the Month? There will be a national celebration with such organizations such as, the ACLU and the child lovers NAMBLA they once represented, along with all of the illegal aliens they helped cross over from Mexico.

I never shop on the 1st of the month. Grocery stores are going for the government money and never have anything on sale.
