I'm allergic to Tide, so I use ERA, WISK or GAIN... I add about 1C. of baking soda to the wash water.. It helps the detergent work a bit harder and since I use baking soda for all sorts of other things it's cheaper than TIDE is too.... I don't like PUREX if you are doing washing for children it doesn't remove stains very well... Also, it's good to get a pre-treater like SHOUT or SPRAY N WASH.. That will help as well.. .good luck

I've tried a lot of other detergents, but I always go back to Tide. My second choice would be Kirkland's, I think that's what it's called. You buy it at Costco.

I used purex for years to save money; a couple months ago i bought tide because it was on-sale...i will never switch back. There is a very noticeable difference and it's worth the extra couple of dollars. Just stock up when it's on sale!

Ajax and Arm and Hammer are both good. I use those because of allergies to Tide. They clean very well and are cheaper by far.

Arm & Hammer works very well, especially if you don't have city water, it is about the only detergent that will sud up with hard water

I use "all" detergent and it works very good. Tide makes me break out! Purex is also very good.
