pretty much because scott stapp's ego got so big, the other guys couldn't work with him anymore. they say it was creative differences, but yet the rest of the band managed to work just fine together in alter bridge

There was no official reason that was announced, other than Scott Stapp and the rest of the band were no longer seeing eye to eye on things. I think it's possible Scott has a bit of an attitude problem, and I know he doesn't like touring. The rest of the band appeared to get along fine since they re-hired their ex-bass player and formed Alter Bridge.

They SUCKED!!!! That being said, I hung out with Alter Bridge on their bus for a while a coupla years ago, and they seem to be pretty cool. Their touring arrangement is really family oriented and they have their kids on the bus and stuff. Nice guys, and they hate Scott Stapp. Their songs still suck though.

Cuz they suck and the singer realized it so he went on to make his solo album to only see it fall flat on to the ground and realized that we was the one that sucked the whole time!!
