Sedition paid. Former President Clinton was hunted down for all sorts of things, but got nailed for...getting nailed, and lying about it.
My party figured do the same. It worked before.
However, Americans have a low tolerance for that, as shown historically.
Now that socialism in my party has reared it's ugly head again (every once in a while since the socialist party split into three and decided, publicly, to use the Democratic party as one of their arms it gets stronger), people are starting to turn away from Democratic principles in combination with their dislike of socialism and sedition.
It's not a good combination, and unless fellow Democrats who are also patriots (there are a lot of us) start speaking up, we're going to have some trouble in the election.
Going after Bush is an easy win in their minds. If they can make him into another Nixon, the battle against terrorism is over. They've burned so much of the ground around him without burning him that they are desperate to find a way to hurt him.
It shows.

Can you define "going after Bush"? Do you mean investigations into the federal prosecutors? From the Gallop Polls :
"Do you approve or disapprove of Congress issuing a subpoena forcing the Justice Department to hand over documents in the investigation into these dismissals?"

From the Times Poll:
"President Bush has said that he would allow members of his administration to talk privately to congressional investigators about the firings, but not under oath and not in congressional hearings. Do you think this is more because he's trying to cover up the reasons for the firings, or more because he wants to preserve the Constitution's separation of powers between Congress and the presidency?" I think a lot Americans are concerned about what is going on and would like to know. As our representatives, Congress therefore should be investigating. If you like or don't like this, then write or call your representative. I have.

They are working on important issues, unfortunately conservatives are working equally hard against them. With all of the tug-of-warring and power playing, very little is getting done and the two sides seem unwilling and unable to reach a working compromise. The polls, which go up and down all the time, better reflect our dissatisfaction with the entire body, rather than with one party.

They are doing both. It is actually part of their job. One of the duties of Congress is oversight. They are to make sure the other branches of government do what they are supposed to and do not break any laws in the process. This administration has done so many illegal, and unethical things it will take time for Congress to go through them all. But know that this IS their job.
The day they start going after Bush for his sex life is when they have overstepped their boundaries.
Funny how no one yelled about Congress investigating Clinton the WHOLE time he was in office! And he did nothing wrong which is why they had to go into his sex life in order to "Get" him.

Are you talking about Congress? It is a pretty small majority whose decision making has been blocked by Bush and due to the low majority have been unable to override. However, remember that that disapproval rate also goes for the slightly less than majority Republicans in Congress.

Something to do with a lack of moral compass and an inability to prioritize on "important" issues. Kind of like driving a band new SUV with low rider, bling-bling rims and low profile tires, but still can't aford a belt to hold their pants up or a house inwhich to live... Always looking for that free handout and complaining about being stereotyped.

Look you conservatives/ republicans had the whole enchilada for 5 years. All branches of government under W's control and you solved what problems? So, quit whining and learn to think straight, you can't blame Clinton forever.

That's not true. Liberals are looking at very important issues.
They are expending huge resources to take over talk radio so Air America doesn't have to file for bankruptcy again.
They are busy trying to get the fairness doctrine passed so essentially there will be no more talk radio.
If we can't have it, no one can!.
Sounds a bit like an abusive spouse doesn't it?

Hmmm seems to me that narcissism is the problem here. Some folks just like to hear themselves talk and , will jump onto any bandwagon with a squeaky wheel just to draw attention to themselves

Criticizing and checking the abuse of power of the Executive branch isn't important?
I also don't remembe reading any polls that asked "Do you approve or disapprove of liberals?" Maybe I missed that one.
