We live in the land of water conservation (good) and low-flow shower heads (boo). A plumber actually removed a plastic gizmo inside the shower-head, but it didn't really improve the flow. Is there anything else that can be done to soup up the power? Thanks...

A booster pump can be fitted to increase the flow, they are transformer fed 24Volts so are safe to use.. Obtainable at plumbers supply. Takes a plumber to fit one however.

Remove the head and turn on the water to see if it is the head or the water supply. If it is the head, it may be clogged with deposits. You can soak it for a few hours in vinegar. You can also do this while it is in place by using a storage baggie tied up over the head.

Remove the head and inside there is a small hole, this is what restricts your flow. Get a drill and drill the hole a little bit bigger this will allow more water to flow. I have done it tons of times as a handyman

Some shower heads are designed to give you only a certain gpm. You may have that type. If so, you can replace just the head with one more to your liking.

If it as older head it may be clogged with calcium deposits, try soaking it in CLR to clean it out.
