1. AND MOST IMPORTANT-Cross Stitching for me and others is very RELAXING and a great way to DE-STRESS! Cross stitch lets you concentrate on your creativity and put all the stresses in your life away for some time which can length your life as STRESS is the #1 KILLER!
2. You can make great gifts for everyone you know very inexpensively and quickly. Many projects stitch up quickly-in a day or less.
3. Free projects and patterns are widely available all over the Internet so you can print out your own choices and stitch them up. Try www.dmc-usa.com for a good start!

1. You are creating a work of art that can be passed down through your family (and if you don't think old needlework is worth anything, check the prices of antique samplers!).
2. You are learning new skills (cross stitch is much more than making Xs. There are many specialty stitches that can be used to beautify a design).
3. It's a better way to occupy your time than eating or smoking!

I cross stitch to relax, the stress just washes away. It's a gift of love. I have 6 grand children and they are excited to see their project come to life under the needle, they will cherish it for years to come. I give a quilt to each new baby in my extended family, they tell me they are afraid to use them they are so pretty, a few time it has brought them to tears, so if I can bring a smile to a child's face then it's all worth it.
It's also a great source to make new friends.

1. To relieve stress...it helps me a lot when I am stressed because of the repetitive action and focus my mind in stitching.
2. Finished product makes a great gift for my family and friends because they understand the time and effort I've exerted in each piece.
3. It's very satisfying every time you finish a piece because you know that you accomplished something you can be proud of.
