Because Republicans think it's more evil to screw one intern than to screw the whole country.

The Dems should have reacted with far more outrage to Starr's excesses and that fact that he kept Trumping up new allegations every time one proved groundless. By the Republican House Managers' own count, 439 false allegations.

Way to be a Republitroll, JS. Contradict yourself in the same paragraph and expect people to believe it's the truth.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "spending on 911." Do you mean spending on investigating what happened that day? Do you mean the cleanup costs? Do you mean the upgrades to national security or the cost of the following military action in Afghanistan?

Either way, the amount of money spent to investigate Bill Clinton's wrongdoings is pretty outrageous. While the conduct of the President is serious business, there should be a line drawn somewhere defining what is and is not a reasonable amount of time and effort spent considering the other problems facing America today.

Bill Clinton was too busy screwing around with Monica to do anything when the Twin Towers were first attacked, or when our embassies were bombed, or when the USS Cole was attacked, all by Al Queda. He was offered Bin Laden and didn't want him. It is his fault for not taking any action against the terrorists during his admin that the attacks continued on 9/11. You people are pretty sick to believe that anyone in the US government knew about 9/11 beforehand. The far left is in the Twilight zone!!!

Because the government thought that was what we wanted to hear about. Unfortunately, I don't give a c--- about what they do with their personal life, That's for them and their families to deal with, not the American public. As long as the man has America's best interest as a priority and is a great leader, in which my opinion Clinton was, (He kept us out or war and I'm sure it wasn't easy, he had to COMPROMISE a great deal to keep us safe) he had my vote.

because it was sensationalistic. Because it didn't involve people losing their lives, just their dignity.

Why do you think more people vote for American Idol than they do for the Presidential office? The Presidential process is so long and dragged out and even with the mud-slinging, it somehow isn't as exciting to the general public as this person's singing and looks against this other person's singing and looks.

It's the media spin on things that make them "important" or not.

The Clinton impeachment proceedings were simply a titillating distraction Congress used to keep the American citizens focused on trivial instead of the corrupt skulduggery that goes on in Congress.
The 9-11 'terrorist attack' was an event orchestrated to create emotional frenzy among American citizens that allowed the Bush administration to run rip shod over our Constitution, violate the UN Charter, disregard the rules of the Geneva Convention, and illegally, unjustifiable, and immorally invade another sovereign nation that in no way threatened, provoked or attacked the United States.
The U.S. government does little to serve the "people" anymore; it has become a bloated behemoth intent on operating as its own physical entity without regard, respect, or responsibility for the people of the United States of America.

America didn't spend the money, our government did. If I was in control of the check book I wouldn't have given a dime to it. To me it was a personal issue, not a public one. I could care less who he is having sex with. We need to realize that we are human. This is just a prime example of how our country is so hung up on gossip vs. important issues.

Because sex sells and everyone loves a sex scandal. We have TV channels and magazines dedicated to just such things. What do we have dedicated to finding the truth on important issues???? I just don't know anymore.
