Is there any "LUXURY" in your life you refuse to give up no matter how it hurts to pay for it?

My friend complains how horribly broke he is all the time but still smokes 2-3 packs of ciggies a day!

I was sooooo proud when my dad finally gave up smoking. But it wasn't because my sister and I begged him non-stop. It was because the price of cigarettes finally became outrageous. lol

As for me.... I don't think I surround myself with too many luxuries. I guess the only thing I can think of is internet service. I'm not sure I would know what to do if I couldn't afford it. It would certainly take a lot of fun out of my release every day. So I guess I'll always pinch enough pennies to stay connected. Hope most of my friends will too!! :)

Oh goodness! You're gonna come down hard on me Lt. Dan! I only smoke one pack but it is very hard to quit. I did know a girl that smoked like a freight train but didn't have enough money to keep her gas on in the winter and had a child. I can say that my child will have everything he needs before I will buy a pack though.

Dude that's not a luxury- that's a death sentence. Your poor friend. I would he would make that a gym membership instead. Sad but true~ I just buried a friend at 41...nothing wrong with her, except cancer from lungs into her spine-brain....all related to smoking, just like your friend. She was so beautiful, like a long haired Bridgette Bardo with big green cat eyes. I'm very anti-smoking now.

To me, its fine "spices" to cook "home cooked" meals.
I don't like imitation anything! I'm a bit old fashioned. I like real butter, vanilla, good cheeses and the best cut of meat. If I have to "eat at home" to save money, its going to be delicious and well thought out.

Air conditioning and my car. Last week when the kids were all gone to camp, I turned the thermostat up to 78 from the 68 we use to keep it at. After a week of camping under the "blue clear sky," they are acclimated to warmer temperatures which means hopefully I wont receive another $300 electric bill this month. As far as gas in the car goes...last night I paid $2.08 per gallon of gas...Thank God for flex fuel cars!

ziggies aren't luxuries. they are a necessities for unfortunate addicted people with various invalid reasons for smoking.

Oh well, now you got me started. Food, electricity, water, rent, tax, school fees.

And yes according to UN and all those other organisations with the broad overview, we should be lucky to pay them since a lot of people live on a lot less.

Thank you for reminding me. I'm currently in a fight with my ex about school fees. What a luxury.

I was going to say no, since I don't really have many luxuries-- but after thinking about it, I have gone to Disneyland whether I could afford it or not, so I guess it would be there.
Its my mental health break place. I can forget all about my physical and emotional pain, laugh and enjoy myself regardless of what my life is throwing at me.

Music. I buy karaoke discs and CDs of artists (refuse to download), and I am an off-and-on karaoke host. I would love to get back into radio broadcasting or host karaoke at a huge club again.

No, it's all material and u can't take it with you when u go. I'm a single mom of 2 and i make sure my kids are well taken care of before my needs.I'm a smoker also, and have done w/o, cuz my kids needed something..No Biggie 2 me.
