apparently there was a fundraising concert for the madeline fund held yesterday at Donnington Park. It had 'a list' celebs and stars such as runner up on X factor Rowetta and some boyband who had supported other big stars. The expected number to attend was 6000. It was hoped it would raise 35k for the fund. Apparently, according to the Leciester Mercury, 'over 80' people came. The concert lasted 8 hours. Thats 10 people an hour.
Cant help but smirk,,, sorry......

Barrie G, thank you. I agree. I also think it takes someone 'special' to lose a child in the first place in the circumstances that she was lost.

well all i can say is
the concert organisers should start to ask the promoters what did they do exactly to promote this event?
coz i certainly didn't hear about it!
& saying that i probably wouldn't have parted with my cash to a fund that has produced so little in the way of results.
these millions have not brought Madeline back, have they?
throwing more money at it will do no good at all.
i'm not exactly smirking, you're a braver person than me.
i'm sort of frowning in disbelief.
praps i can't help thinking while the money's flowing in & the McCanns are jetting here & there, making all the right noises, people will suddenly forget how this unhappy situation happened in the first place.
all for the want of a damn take-away!
growl, growl & tut tut!

Perhaps the public have seen through the Mccann's at last.
How the heck is raising more money going to find Madeleine? There is already over a £ Million in the "fund", and a further £2.5 Million for the reward. Fund raising hasn't exactly proved successful in finding Madeleine has it? Still, i doubt that's what the parents are really interested in, all they See is £££££ and $$$$$.

Did all "stars", security staff, ground staff etc give up thier time and not claim any expenses?
Don't think so - 80 people £10 each = £800 minus the above costs
Who will foot the bill?? Will it come out of the McCann Fund??

We all hope that little Maddy is found safe and well ,We all hate the way gerry and kate have gone about trying to find her all this globe trotting stuff ,if they had been decent parents from the start none of this would have happened and they would still be doctors ,instead they should end up in prison for child neglect

You sounded like Napoleon Dynamite at the end there...thats like a Dollar an hour!!! hehe
i dont know what to make of these concerts/funds or whatever. Id rather them actually concentrating on searching for Madeline than gathering money. It just seems so useless to do that. Theres so much publicity that someone knows where she is. If they find her (alive hopefully) THEN start with fundraising and starting charities and whatnot for other kids who are lost.

I agree with beanie. How much more do they need altogether???? If Madeleine is never found does this mean they will continue for life.
