Well they interest you enough to write a question...

Sometimes you need to escape from reality. It gives you a perspective and meaning. This is why we go on vacations to fantastic places, why we dream and what makes us distinctive from other animals (as far as we know).

Without imagination we are just beings but we are not just or being.

They should--sometimes by reading fiction, we can learn more about ourselves and others. Granted, you're not going to find a teenager going to magic school, but there are several aspects of any person, real or fictitious, that you can learn from. If you've come across a situation and seen the options, whether experienced by a real or a fictitious character, you may realize how to best handle it yourself. And who knows--you may even recognize yourself in the character a little bit and not feel quite so alone in the world!

How interesting. I'm sure that everyone on this section appreciates the comment you just made regarding one of the most talked-about books ever, considering that it made no contribution to the section.

On a better note, thanks for two very easy points!

Um . . . was that a question?

I'm sorry to hear that though . . . sometimes we learn a lot more from fiction than fact.
