Most scientists and researchers who have done studies on the Bermuda Triangle generally agree that most of the disappearances may be more due to unpredictable weather and possible magnetic fields in that zone. With better technology these days, you hardly hear about disappearing ships or sinking ships, let alone disappearing ones in a specific zone.

My father was once a sailor and I used to ask him about the Bermuda Triangle too. He has sailed through it on numerous occasions and still lives to tell the tale that there is no tale. So, no I think ships disappearing there is about as rare as the chance of ending up with a carrot in your nostril (how exactly, I wonder...).

The myth of a dangerous "Bermuda Triangle" was completely debunked years ago by a very good study, read "Bermuda Triangle Solved" by Kucsche or buy the Nova TV show (Nova: The Bermuda Triangle ) that discussed it. The myth originated with a Charles Berlitz book was full of half truths and misstatements that made the tales seem much more vivid than reality. For example, a boater off Miami Beach disappeared on a clear night, according to Berlitz, but there was a major storm, according to the Miami Herald. The story of how an urban myth was created is fascinating!
Ship losses off Cape Hatteras, north of the "triangle" are much worse than anything further south, but then again, that is a fact that interferes with the legend!

Actually there is another triangle a bit further north called the Great Lakes triangle. Read about the ships that went missing there and you'll see a lot of why ships have gone missing in the Bermuda Triangle as well.

Personally I think it's just Nessie getting out and having some fun! hehehehehe

Sure because there are still storms in the area. I grew up in the Bermuda Triangle and the myth is silly.

Ships and boats (as in large sailboats) disappear almost daily in the oceans and seas of the world. The biggest cause in these modern days is drug runners and pirates---believe it or not.
