I don't know about most women, but I had two pregnancies and bleeding with both. The first pregnancy I did miscarry at 9 weeks. The second pregnancy I bled from 6 weeks (and was crampy) until 15 weeks. This pregnancy went to term and I had my beautiful daughter. Oh, and I bled a lot at the end, so they induced me at 41.5 weeks.

sounds like my first pregnancy. Firstly take a deep breath and relax! I fell pregant and went for a scan that was only a sac and nothing in it, they said I was about 5wks along. Then i started the same sort of bleeding and went to the hosp only for the doc to say ' take some panadeine and come back in 2wks for a scan'! How pathetic right!
I went to GP and he said, it is completely normal for you to have a break through bleed from 'leftovers' from last periods.
Went back for followup scan 2 wks later and baby was beautiful blob on the screen! she was born at 40wks and as healthy as she should be.
It is normal but very scary! You may be off on your dates and that happens but remember to relax and that whatever happens, happens. Don't overdo it until you have another scan. If you think that something has changed, bleeding gets worse, or just can't put your mind at ease, go back to docs and demand a scan asap.
I found out afterward, that they make you wait a week or 2 so that they can see if the baby has grown, as earlier than 6 weeks is really hard to detect and there would be no discernable heartbeat yet.
Good Luck and relax!

your baby gets a heartbeat at 6 weeks, so even if you were a week eariler in pregnancy he still should of seen something, passing clots in pregnancy is most likely a miscarriage, which is passing the tissue of the baby, you have the signs of a miscarriage, im very sorry.

please don't take this the wrong way, and I'm saying it will happen to you, but i had this where the sack was growing but there the baby wasn't growing, and i had to have it removed at 9wks. i hope this isn't the case, and maybe it is just your not as far gone as thought. good luck and let us now how you get on.
