DONT READ THISIF YOUR A GUY OR IF THIS KIND OF STUF MAKES YOU SICK
ok...I am going on a trip to the mts with my sis and dad (my parents are divorced, but i live mostly with my mom) and we are going swimming and rafting and stuff, and guess wat? its the 3rd day of my peirod! (me:"why NOW?") and its heavy too! I tried using tampons like all night last night after doing like alot of research and asking my mom before she went to bed and reading the instructions. My mom bought them for me last night, the small tampax ones, and i just cant use them. i dont think i;m ready. i'm only 13 and i have had my peirod for a little more than a year. but i was wondering if its ok to put a pad with no wings on a bathing suit? i know you dont bleed in the water, but when i get out thats what i'm worried about. but we only bought pads with wings and it would be so embarrassing to wear those, so i begged my mom to tell work its am emergency and buy me some before i leave (at one) and she said no.

I know it might sound like ima brat, but i know my mom won't get fired cuz she does do it when she needs too. But when i finally decided the fact that it was probably impossible for her to get them for me, she suggested for me to have her boyfriend driveme to the store. i kinda thought she waz crazy. and she said either that or daddy, but my dad doesnt like this kind of stuf. i mean i know he would help, but this is more a girl-girl thing. my stupid sis wont help either. maybe i could put like 5 panti liners or something...i really wanna go swimming!

I finally got a tampon in, but it feel weird. Like, i put it in as far as it could go, but it feels as if it could fall out. I did the strech thing and I couldnt feel it then, but i can KINDA feel it when I sit. Maybe this is just cuz its my first time? like I had another in before but it wasnt in far enough so i did another one. Actually it hurt when i tried to pull it out (not of dryness)I had to do it slow.

Why don't you get a pair of scissors and cut the "stupid" wings off. That is if there is adhiseve sticky on the other part of the pad. Try this, try using two of them, cutting the wings off one and wrap the one pair of wings around the other pad. I'm not a female, but that sounds like that might work. I'm pulling my hair out trying to come up with an answer that will work for you. Try and see if that don't work for you.

God Bless You and be safe.

NEVER wear a pad in the water! It will swell up like a diaper. The minute you jump into the pool, the pad will soak up water and then won't be able to absorb your blood. You will end up bleeding in the pool.

Water DOES NOT stop a period! I don't know where everyone is getting this information. The Water WASHES away the blood.

If you are going swimming you HAVE to wear a tampon. No tampon=No pool.
(If you have problems inserting tampons, you will probably have trouble with the mooncup too)

I have a friend who can't use a tampon, she is 17 and she has tried and tried but "it just wont go in". Its only because everyone is different. Some girls cant do it. But when I first started using tampons, I asked my mom where to put it in, and she just looked at me and said "Get to know your body." So I just explored a little and I knew what to do after that. Just get to know your body a little more and dont be scared of yourself. If not, then I'm sure you can get a thin pad with no wings, they have them everywhere. Good luck!

Hey girlie, I had the same problem. I started my when I was a couple years younger than you, and the thought of tampons scared me. I was young and i didnt know better, ya know? I tried putting one in, and it just wasnt working. I told my mom and she said I would just have to learn. You want to know why it wasnt working? Because I didnt use the applicator! the little plastic or cardboard thing that goes around the cotton. I was just trying to use the cotton...and that doesnt work, lol. If you use plastic applicator, it goes in more smoothly. Read the directions! I suggest you try again, maybe you had the same problem as me, who knows? Took me a while but I figured it out, as you will too, and it's much better. Good luck!

Heres the problem with pads when you are going in the water - they soak up the water too. You will end up with a big saggy diaper looking thing going on there, and I'm sure you don't want that. Tampons would be your best option. Try a smaller size, make sure you are inserting them correctly (if done right, you wont notice they are there). Or don't go in the water.

OMG i know exactly what your talking about. I had the same problem you did. Here's what you do. Just wear the pad without wings in water, don't get too wild and it won't fall off. Also you won't bleed until you get out of the water so when you do make sure you change your pad if you need to. I've done it before so i hope if works for you :)

I've been swimming with nothing a couple of times because I was a bit desperate. I couldn't use tampons, I didn't even think of using a pad so I just went in with nothing. It didn't drip down my leg, although I was constantly checking! In fact, even though I would say I am quite heavy when I took my swimming costume off, there was nothing there!

People are like ewww you can't swim with nothing that's groos but think of all the sweat in the water when people get in and if someone pees?

i dont think its a good idea to use pads in the water. when putting a tampon in, relax, breathe, and just take it easy. you will be ready when you are ready
