I can not make a guess what will be cheaper, as there are so many different versions of the Eurail pass, (country passes, Flexi passes and global passes for different lengths of time,) so you will have to work it out yourself.
Here is a link for the Eurail site:

And here for the different railway planners, they all have a possibility to check the price of a ticket, but be aware that prices can change by early booking:
Italy: http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
Germany: http://www.bahn.de/p/view/international/englisch/international_guests.shtml
Belgium: http://www.b-rail.be/main/E/index.php

Eurail Pass is great of you are doing a lot of travel, unlimites trips within the time frame of the pass. This is much cheaper then purchasing individual tickets. There are some networks like mini mountain train types that it is not valid but the handbook tells you about those. If you are travelling in peak season, I would recommend that you reserve your seat and there is a small charge for this usually.
Also, if in a country where the Eurail Pass is not valid, enquire about travel passes for 5.7.10 days etc. This will be much cheaper also. Have a great trip.

Depending on your travel plan. If you plan to travel all over Europe, then the Eurail pass would be cheaper.
