Good morning Chocoholic.

Everyone is right, by using a tampon you are still a virgin.

It may hurt a little depending on your body, and the shape of your vagina. The best way to try it for the first time is when your flow is heaviest, and use one of the lightest possible tampons, this way you will get used to the intrusion; which yuo will be aware of the first few times you use them.

As you will not be used to them, try using a pad at the same time. Just incase you do have any leaks.

Tampons are great, because they stop that uncomfortable nappy feeling, and are more descreet.

But never forget that you have one in, and change it every 4-6 hours.

When you are removing one, just gently tug on the cord, if it feel like it wont come out easily, give it a little more time. And try to use them only at the heaviest points of your period, because at your age, your periods will be sporadic.

I wouldnt recommend the scented ones at the moment because your body is still changing and balancing its hormones and bacterias, and you do not want a yeast infection at the moment. (or ever actually.)

If you have very painful periods, it may become uncomfortable to use tampons, I find that I get a tired ache from my abdomen, but not when I dont use them.

Lastly, talk to your mum, she has experienced this, and she was once your age, she knows what you are going through!

Good luck sweetie!

Of Course you can use tampons when you are a virgin. Tampons do NOT take away virginity! You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse.

It is possible (but very unlikely) to break your hymen with a tampon, but it really doesn't matter if you do. Hymens are NOT a reliable sign of virginity. they can be broken before a girl even thinks about sex. ( They can be broken through: horseback riding, bike riding, an accident, strenuous exercise, stretching the wrong way, etc.)

Lots of activities can break a woman's hymen. Some women don't even HAVE a hymen! You cannot lose your virginity to a tampon; a virgin is someone who's never had sex, and you don't have sex with a tampon.

I have used tampons since I was 15, and I assure you, I was a virgin at the time.

Yes you can use a tampon although if your hymen is still intact it may break but this will not result in your virginity being taken.

It might break your hymen, but its unlikely. Tampons are fine once you find the brand that u find the perfect fit. It doesn't mean that you aren't a virgin.

it is possible that it can break you in but not properly and you will still be classed as a virgin even if it does break as you havent actually slept with a man.

I was scared first time but if you use the super tampons that come in a tube they are easy to use and dont have to literally play with yourself to put them in. these are very safe and easy to use and lots of women use this method.

dont worry wont hurt you even if still are a virgin

you may stretch the hymen or possibly tear it a little but you can only lose your virginity when you have sex for the first time (make sure it's with someone special!)

it may hurt a little the first couple of time you use a tampon but it wont hurt a lot. if its that bad just use pads!

i am not a female but i do have medical knowledge. yes you can use a tampon if you are a virgin. you will most likely have discomfort and maybe a little pain the first few times. i wouldn't say you would loose your virginity by using a tampon but yes there is a small chance it could pop your cherry nothing to worry about. so stop getting so worked up over it and try it. if ya don't like it use pads. ya wont know until you try. good luck
