Two beautiful, classic love songs-sounds like your in love,Ghostface?! I prefer Earth Wind and Fire as a group,but i'm undecided about these two tracks.

Earth Wind and Fire wins. Shalamar was a very good group, but they are like the Gulf of Mexico compared to the Atlantic Ocean that is Earth Wind and Fire.There was a time in the late 70's when every song the elements released was a guaranteed hit.

Earth Wind & Fire wins HANDS DOWN. Her is how I see it;
Body of Work Overall.
EW&F paved the way for acts like Shalamar.
Musical Ability.
EW&F plays and sings circles around Shalamar, as a group and individually.
Respectability.
Compared to EW&F Shalamar is pretty lightweight stuff.
Total Record Sales
OK I admit I don't know the numbers, but simply selling records does not a musician make.
Durability-
The music of EW&F will still be played and loved 100 years from now. Of course this is speculation on my part.

Earth Wind & Fire are probably the 'better' group. But I would go for the one I was listening to at the time! The Shalamar songs are just such catchy, happy songs. Hearing 'Night to remember' always makes me think of the 'Harvester', as it's the theme song to their advert isn't it?!

Earth wind and fire have more hits as far as i can remember, but i like shalamar as well.

I think this will be unanimous EW&F. They may be the greatest r&b/soul group of all time. Shalamar was good but not nearly in the same league.........even if you count Jody Watley's solo career.
