Maybe I'm just getting old but I like Classic Rock :I.E CCR, the Stones, Pink Floyd, etc
I also like most of the 80's rock.
Now every1 is listening to bubble gum or hip hop which of the latter I don't call music.
FYI: Motely Crue isn't classic rock :-p

I don't really know. Trends, I suppose. Music evolves just like everything else. It just kind of goes in weird ways. Every once in a while you'll get an avante-garde kind of group now a days, but not too many.
I don't know, the political situation and stuff in the 60's brought up some great 70's bands.
I don't call bubble gum pop or hip hop or rap or anything where they don't even play instruments music.
And don't worry, you're not sounding old; the fourteen year old typing loves classic rock!

I like a little classic rock. I like Alice Cooper, Sir Elton John and Celine Dion. I also love French pop/rock. I like bubble gum pop when I am in a bouncy mood...I like the bouncy beat. But I'm not into hip hop because most of it degrades women. I prefer the standards and like music with actual meaning and harmony as well as a catchy beat or lyrics. The reason I've gotten into French pop/rock is because I take French so it helps me to study.

I can't STAND bubble gum OR hip hop. I'm not really into classic rock though. More of alternate rock. I do like some classic rock and metal though.

I'm like you. Love Pink Floyd and the Stones. Of the more modern music, bands like U2 and Oasis still produce some good stuff.

The musicians today are so concerned with sounding good that they are afraid to experiment. As a result, all the music sounds the same.
The older bands were not afraid of doing different and often stupid things, but because of that, the music sounded diverse and stupid stuff was often refreshing.
I think todays musicians need to shed their fear of the abnormal.

Yes, I was also thinking the same as you.
Today's songs are out of tune. Back in the 80s and 90s, the songs have lots of action and emtion.

Go up to New Orleans and catch some of that Zydeco music. I hate Houston too.

stick with the stuff you like, that's real music.
a band isn't a band if only one of their songs is good. the radio will play it 38902847 times and then people will hate it.
it's too bad the real musicians never get credit... PM me if you want to exchange some band recommendations.
