Dont go to ER!! Unless you are in pain, they wont take you seriously!
You are 5 weeks pregnant? Well you can have a bleed around the time of your period up until 8 months pregnant. It's due to hormanes and the stretching of the utrerus.
Try not to worry. If you're having a scan all will be explained then.
I was 12 weks pregnant until March. I bleed alot, kept going back to my doctor, who told me everytime that if i was misscarrying there would be nothing anyone could do, and thta i should just take a weekly pregnancy test to see if i was pregnant! I kinow this was bad advice! On my last visit, he said, if i was bleeding at the end of the following week, he'd send me for a scan! I had stopped bleeding but lied and said i was to get the scan. Good job i did, i had a very rare ectopic, which was hours from rupture. As i was 12 weeks pregnant, my doc thought it couldnt be an ectopic and as i had no pain either, it went undetected, My baby was the size of a large lime and i would certainly have died.

Bleeding in early pregnancy is common. Do you have any pain? It is more worrying if you do.
I bled in my fist pregnancy and unfortunately that lead to a miscarriage. In this pregnancy I did, I have just been to the Early Pregnancy Unit at my local hospital and have seen a heart been and all looks well. I had a bit of bleeding once after going to the toilet with this one as well - so seeing everything as ok was such a relief.
I would recommend you phone your local hospital and find out where your early pregnany centre is, they run a self referral drop in centre and at the end of the day it is what they specialise in, they will give you the best information.
Best of luck!

Try not to get too scared. I spotted throughout my pregnancy and had a healthy baby. Spotting is usually caused by anything to do with the cervix and seeing as yours seems to be in a delicate state I would presume this is the reason. If it gets heavy and is bright red then this can be a more serious sign but spotting should be ok.

Since you are in the UK do you not have a early pregnancy unit where you are? when I bled early in pregnancy i went down there and they performed a scan there and then...although this early into the pregnancy they'd be unlikely to see much but atleast you wouldnt have to wait until Thursday. Im fairly sure that its likely to be your Cervictitus thats causing it but I hate the thought of you sitting on it worrying until thursday.....please call the maternity until and ask for some advice, im sure they'll suggest you go down for a check over. Some women can continue to have small period bleeds through their term. Any amount of spotting however should not be ignored. You need to see your GP regarding this sooner rather than later. I would recommend not waiting til thursday to see your GP and check on the spotting, hopefully it will be OK but these things can be dangerous for you also, if not checked out. fingers crossed...

Why are you waiting till Thursday to have this checked? You should see a doctor now for the spotting. No one on here can help you! Good luck.

i'm sorry for your previous loss...any bleeding in pregnancy should be investigated..especially given your history..go to your doc and have an internal scan done today or tomorrow...pain/cramps are normally associated with miscarriage, along with clots...if you are not having any of those then you may be ok...have yourself checked out though to be safe
///Additional FAO Stefbear
there is no medical reason to wait a year after a miscarriage to get pregnant again...two doctors and three nurses have told us that there is no medical reason to not start right away again...they normally tell you to wait one month so you will know your dates again...other than that...not reason whatsoever to wait

You miscarried in April. Usually you are supposed to wait a year after miscarriage or birth to try again. It takes the uterus a year to heal and go back to pre pregnant status and to be strong again. You are at risk of another miscarriage. I would say when they do their check for you and the baby is fine it is the lining of your uterus which may be weak from the miscarriage in April. I would not wait til thursday to get checked. If doc won't check tomorrow I would head to the ER.
