my sister was meant to have a baby shower 2 months ago, but she got sick and canceled it. however, everyone still bought her presents and she has since bought everything she needs , and has more gifts on the way from other family members once the baby is born . so there is nothing left for me to get her for the baby , she's having a girl and she's due on the 7th aug .. do you think this is a good gift idea to give her once the baby is born?

no, personally i don't! It wont be of any interest to her once she is older or your sister! What about something more interesting like a pretty bangle. Money box? Jewellery box, Mint coin collection, or start a small ornamental doll collection! To be honest one of the nicest pressents i got was a big good quality wicker basket with yellow ribbon threaded around the middle, full of things for the baby, all toiletries etc, hairbrushes and cottonwool, filled by the person who gave it to me. i used it so much!
The other nice thing was a hand stitched mobile! That i put above changing mat! Or what about a silver photo frame!
Good luck

I think it is very pretty, but a little impersonal. I think for the money it may be nicer to get her something that has some kind of significance. Maybe like a locket with the baby's birth info ingraved and a hospital picture. Or, how about a certificate for family pictures, or to have the first pair of baby shoes bronzed. Don't get me wrong, the crystal is beautiful, but will most likely end up sitting on a shelf. I have included some likns to samples of the items I mentioned, just so you can see some other options. Otherwise, the crystal is beautiful. Also, something in the baby's birthstone (Peridot) would be nice too.

No. The pink baby set is cute now, but if you are going to spend that much $$$, you need to be more practical. Give your sister pink crystals in a simple round or oval shape stone/pendant on a chain and she could wear it as a remembrance of her daughter for the rest of her life. Disposable diapers are the best gift you could give your sister for the baby. You can't ever have too many of those. You could give her an assortment. Start with Newborns up to Large. Babies grow quickly.

it is cute and all, but does she really need more stuff lying around that the baby ( when toddler age) will break etc... I have the most amazing gift my husband got for me and people comment on it all of the time...he found some company on line, don't remember the name of it. Anyway, it is a spoon bracelet made out of baby spoons, and attached ( dangle off the clasp) are two baby boots ( I have 2 children) with birth dates engraved- awesome idea.
You are right, mom's need something special too, so the idea is very sweet and right on target
or, a very sweet locket would be nice

That is an absolutly beautiful set, however I know if I received it for a gift, I would kind of wonder what to do with it. I just had a baby 1 month ago and my most helpful gifts were girt cards for stores like Walmart, sears, etc. That way she can buy clothes and wipes and dipers as she needs them. But it is a beautiful Idea and I'm sure she would like it.

Well, if you want to spend your money on that, it's cute. But not really practical. Try this, for that money, you can get a round clothes basket and fill it with outfits, onsies, a blanket, diapers, a hooded towel, bathcloths, a baby toy, some desitan and baby powder, and something for mom (maybe nice lotion or bubble bath). How she could use all that! Whatever you choose, I am sure she will appreciate it!

Pretty, but for the money I'm sure you could get something more useful to your sis and new baby Maybe have baby's name hand painted on a toy box or something that will be more personal...

Personally, I would get her a diaper cake. Every baby needs more diapers, and your sister will love it. The most unique gift she will get by far. Have a look:

If you want something just "for her" why not a Mother & Child pendant or other more practical item?

i think it's lovely. yet, as a mom who does not use bottles or pacifiers, i'm not interested in it. if your sis is going to use those though, get it.
i think it's very sweet you want to get something for HER. congrats on being an auntie!
