I have a 2006 Chevy Impala. How much would it cost for an extra set of keys and a key fab, or how much for each individually?

About two bucks each for the keys and the same for a key fob.

You people are all over the place! Let's talk Chevy! On your keys, look at the top of the metal just where it goes into the plastic part. If it says 'PK3' or has a '+' sign your key has a chip in it and needs to be learned to the vehicle. I can tell you how to do that. The dealer will charge you $50. Now the FOB (transmitter). Some vehicles have a 'remote start' system on their vehicle. Those FOB's can cost around $90-$120 (give or take $20). If not, then maybe around the $60-$80 range. And I can tell you how to program it to your vehicle too. The dealer will charge you about $50. Call your local Chevy dealer for prices and have your VIN# handy (the vehicle identification number). The dealer uses that to find the correct parts for your vehicle. Write back if you need more info. P.S. I work for Chevy.

Please stop by your local chevy dealer or call the parts dept.Your impala keys when cut will not start your car.The new keys will have to be learned to your car The service dept will learn your new keys and program your new key fob.Call the parts dept for prices. The keys have to be learned to stop someone else from cutting a key and takeing your car. This is part of the onboard security system.Best of luck with your impala.

The key fob will be a dealer item onle and will have to be programed for your car, the dealer will tell you how much it will cost. the fob itself will be about 75.00 dollars. For an 06
GM there might be 3PK stamped on the metal part of the key near the plastic part that means that the key needs to be programed for the car and will cost between 75.00 and 100.00 dollars

If the keys are specialy coded they will HAVE to be taken into the dealership. if the keys are coded then that means theres a chip (inside either the fob or the key itself) that the car recognizes when the key is inserted. It will run you ROUGHLY anywhere from 20-50 dollars depending on the dealership (cause we all know they LOVE to rip us off)
If the keys are not coded then heck go to walmart and get the key cut for a few dollars, i think for the fob you have to order from the dealership

Hi.......most any hardware store will do it. Also a big retail store with an auto center like Walmart can do it. Unless, your ignition key has a "chip" in it. This is a little black plastic dot on the key, near where your finger holds it. It's an anti-theft device in your ignition system. Then the price goes way up........about $75 for one key, and it has to be done at the dealer, they program it for your specific car..............Good Luck!!!!
