My lovely boyfriend has developed a bad habit of biting his nails. Since I bit my nails horribly for nearly 15 years, I know how hard it is to stop... but I did stop 1 year ago.
It drives me crazy that he bites his constantly. They are all chewed down and bloody. This is a fairly new habit for him. He won't let me try to help him stop the way I stopped.
How can I get him to stop?!

He has to want to stop. It sounds like he does it to calm down. Is something bothering him? Could he do something else with his mouth instead, like chew gum or suck water through a straw? He can't do it if you're kissing him, too! Those might help. However, he has to want to change.

Your boyfriend biting his nails means that his hands are dry.Try suggesting hand lotion to him(even though it doesn't sound manly) but that should help him a bit.

there's a solution you can put on his nails that would taste horrible and would make him want to stop biting his nails..

tell him if he doesn't stop, you'll have to paint his nails bright pink
