I read Helter Skelter in high school and had to keep it under my bed, face down at night. The Entity was scary, too.

I don't read scary books that often, but I do however read people like books. The scariest so far are the ones that have a cover but the pages are all covered in ink blotches and it is hard to read. These ones scare me the most because you never know what you are going to get out of them.
