What if War in Afghanistan and In Iraq ended?

Well Point is simple, People asking American to leave Iraq and Afghanistan if they leave what who would ensure security in the Region? who Can stop Iran from Going Nuclear, Just curious

Hope this answers your questions. I didn't want to add too much more detail because there is a lot more to be added about Iraq. In truth, it would take over a year at the very least to just "walk away" from these wars. Iraq is amazingly unstable right now and is slowly but surely falling into the hands of Iran who has a shiite government. Iraq's government will eventually, in my opinion be completely controlled by the shiite leadership whether the U.S. wants it to happen or not. In my opinion, the very least the U.S. has to do before they leave is SOMEHOW (seems impossible) eliminating Al Qaeda In Iraq which formed after the U.S. led invasion. Iran will, in my opinion go nuclear and most likley already have the tools to do it (read up on who they bought materials from, A.Q. Khan, a Pakistani scientist, who created the bomb for Pakistan) if the U.S. and the international community don't create stricter penalties for Iran soon. If this happens I see the starting of a new Cold War in the middle east between Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, and most likely Israel. They will all want nuclear weapons. Theoretically this could lead to disaster but this is amazingly far away like 30-40 years, maybe even longer, in my opinion. Saudi Arabia has an amazing amount of prescence in Iraq right now (yahoo new article, type in "most foreign insurgents in Iraq are Saudis: report"). Al Qaeda In Iraq is lessening in popularity in Iraq because of its mistakes in one of the provinces, but still has a great deal of control in the situation.

If the U.S. withdrew it could lead to a disaster where the sunnis are SLAUGHTERED and the shiites take power. Iran will remain a key ally with Iraq, and it could highten tensions throughout the whole region, especially between Saudi Arabia and Iran at least in my opinion. Hezbollah would also feel emboldened (See Hezbollah's article in Yahoo News, just a day ago). Thanks for reading, most of this is just opinions as you know, but things that could happen if they aren't prevented.

Well Atheist, I wouldn't worry about them going Nuclear, I would worry about the blood bath that would ensue due to the different tribes and the local wars they've carried on for years. It would be like Africa and what's going on there. I think the men, women and children would suffer with death being the best of the options available in the scenario.

The Taliban would over run the country, most are not Iraq so they wouldn't care who lived or died, right now, we're (Americans) are the stopper in the tub.
My Grandson has been there for three years and I'd like to see him home. I would like to say "the hell with the Iraq" but, on the other hand, what would happen?
