Sector of stock symbol?

Sector of stock symbol?

Is there a site where I can find which sector a stock is classified as (Technology, Consumer Staples, Industry, etc)? Sometimes it's obvious from the company name, but a lot of times it isn't. I mean also stocks which are not components of an index.

Get a quote on Yahoo! Finance and click Profile. That will give you industry and sector.

i dont know the site but i use www.finance.google.com just simply put the name of the company and it will give the symbol ect...hope it helps
