So there's this guy i've met on the internet, and we've known each other for two months and a half now. just a few days ago, he sort of confessed that he has a sort of strong feeling about me even though we havent laid eyes on each other in real life. i was really taken aback by his confession and so i didnt reply to his confession or the questions he asked afterwards. Is this normal for people who has friends from the internet, because this is really new for me. please help!! anything would do. thank you!

If only I could know how old are you.. Anyway here is the deal...there are lots of lonely people on the net but there is also a lot of "sickos", "weirdo's", "predators" or whatever... The thing is you never know who you are talking to. So I really think you are doing the right thing by not replying to this person anymore. Yes it's possible to establish an on-line friendship and yes it could be possible to start having "feelings" for one and other, but the question is not if is possible or "normal".
The question is: IS IT HEALTHY?...
The answer is NO.

I do believe many people have gone through the same situation as yours. I have heard stories of people who fall in love with their internet ´friend´. It is not uncommon. You should ask yourself why did you become friends with him in the first place? Do you think you are starting to like him back?
You do not know him for a long time and if you think he is a nice guy maybe the two of you can meet. If you are sure you don´t want to have any kind of relationship with him, other than friendship, you should tell him right away.

Well honestly it's normal but it shouldn't be because the two of you don't really know each other enough.I just recently got married and I am still getting to know my husband and we have been together for quite some time now.You don't really know a person until you have lived together, which means you really don't know a person until you have met face to face. All and all just let him know that you need some time and that you feel it would be best if the two of you took things slow and met and got to know each other first before taking things to the next level. But Good Luck with things. Take care. KiKi

Do not trust anything said on the internet. It is too easy for people to lie to you. That is true especially if they are telling you that they have a strong feeling for you, and have only talked to you for such a short time, anfd has never met you. How could he possibly really know how he feels about you?

Yes this can happen sometime feeling are strong than how a person looks and when you spend alot of time chatting is a very good way to feel comfortable around another person and I feel that then a relationship is based on true feelings instead of sex appeal

It's very easy to fall for someone online, I've done it myself. Unfortunately, geographical complications usually get in the way of things going anywhere.

ok... don't freak, he probley got lonesome or something. butt what ever you do don't meet him . its awful!!! just keep Internet friends, only FRIENDS. haven't you seen the TV show how to catch a predator on dateline. but anyhow , Ive had that experience before and you;ll look desperate. so do it the regular way ...through good meaning,{but crazy} ,friends.
be advised

I would just email him back and tell him what you just said...haha
That is the best thing. You might try video chat ;)
Talk to him about what you feel and what you are thinking. If he really cares it won't be a problem.

Usually if a guy spends any time talking to a woman it's so that he can get busy with her. Common enough.
