I was suppost to have my surgery done a while back, but the money just never seemed to turn up.

I'm turning 15 in a couple months and I am babysitting my butt off, but its just not enough...
What is a way I can raise money for my surgery other than babysitting???

If this helps at all, my interests are:
Photography (I'm pretty good at it)
acting
singing
christ
art

The surgery is a cosmetic surgery so it is not at all covered by the insurance but it is not any less inportant because it has to do with deep scarring on my face and it causes horrable deppression. I havn't let my bf of 10 months see me without make-up...No one see's me without foundation caked on my face and my hair covering my face, I hate it and I've had it for a long while..The sooner I get it done, the more they can remove, So its still a seriouse thing.
Thank you SOOOOO much for all of your help.

put together an auction!!! invite everyone in your neighborhood...tell them all the money is for your procedure....take photos.. frame them... and put them up for auction!!! get some freinds to help put together a show as entertaiment....use some money you have from babysitting to buy food and drinks and possibly a hall to assemble this all in :) Good luck!!

You are to be commended in wanting to raise the money yourself.
Your doctor may also be willing to work out a payment plan with you, (perhaps if your parents sign on as co-signers since you are a minor.)
Raising the money means taking some bold steps. Since you are just under 15, most states won't let you work for pay at a regular business unless it is for family. And if you could get a starter job, most likely it is going to pay minimum wage.
So it is time to consider going into business. Keep up the baby-sitting. It will be steady and could work as marketing for some of the other suggestions. The good news is that these other ideas can work around your other schedule. Assuming you know other theatrical people who also act and sing, perhaps you could photograph them for their headshots. Or photograph children. If the people for whom you baby-sit are open to the idea, perhaps you could use your art skills to make some holiday back drops and make or borrow a few props, (Halloween, Christmas, Valentines', Easter, etc.) and photograph children for their parents and grandparents. If the photos turn out well, you could market your photography skills to their friends, neighbors, and at church.
Some churches have member directories for which they photograph people every year or two. Speaking to your pastor, along with showing some samples, might get you the job.
This is very important, keep a record of everyone you photograph along with contact information and you can send them an e-mail or flyer later about additional photography. This can be as simple as a card file in a shoebox. ("Let me photograph your next family reunion/party etc." With permission, you can include an example from another client. Ask them to refer you to their friends and neighbors and thank them when they do.) Have some inexpensive business cards printed so that they can find you again.
You might blend the photography with art to make refrigerator magnets, coffee mugs, or under glass in trays. You could even use kids' own art in addition to their photos. There are all sorts of novelties that can utilize photographs. You might talk to a novelty company, or craft store, or a printer. Look in the phone book for potential suppliers.
The trick is to get a few samples to show people (when you are photographing the kids or church members,) as an add-on to the photography session. Don't let a supplier talk you into buying a bunch of anything you might get stuck with if people don't like them. It's a reasonable thing to pay for a few samples that you can use over and over. You also need to be sure the suppliers will let you buy small numbers of items and find out what their lead time is. (Lead time is how many days from when you place the order until you have the item in your hand. Shooting images of little Matt for Grandma's Christmas present won't work if you don't get her coffee mugs back until mid-January.)
And the most important thing is to price your services and products so that you make a fair profit. New business people (you!) tend to under-price themselves and thus not make a profit and give up.
If you go so far as selling merchandise, you need to check with your state about whether you will need to collect and pay sales tax, and any laws that will pertain to you. (You may have to get a license and so on.)
This is possible. Good-luck.

Your parents should have you covered on their insurance and pay any needed medical expenses. If it isn't urgent a part time job like at a fast food restaurant will allow you to save some.

If you are telling the truth and I see no reason for anybody to lie ,you may get in touch with plastic surgeons and send them your picture. It's quite possible that you will find one to do it for free but he will use your pictures with your permission for advertising.

Hi I work part time with different sites and make good money. You could probably make more if you do this full time. Give it a try
