It is like on duty ,off duty .. At work you spread the tasks over your allotted working time You work more days than not. On your off days all he various household tasks that have accumulated over the days you have worked, have to be dealt with so you squeeze more work into a shorter time . There are not any really free off days , only when on holiday perhaps...It is why people need holidays.

lol... I know where your coming from there hun.... When I have a day off I seem to have to do everything I dont have time to do normally, sometimes I am glad to get back to work for a rest lol!
Added difficulty is for me on my day's off I am still expected to answer my mobile and check my e-mail lol.... so I end up doing double the amount of stuff easily!

They call it a day off because you didn't clock in on your job! I think most of us work just as hard or harder around the house and yard, doing everything we left all week to do on our "day off".

They call it a day off , because it's a day off your WORK, not household cleaning etc..

I think it's something to do with clocking off.
If you don't clock on the next day, you have the whole day "clocked off", shortened to "a day off".

Not to be confused with having an "off" day.

Yup!

A lot of it has to do with the fact that I'm WAY more stressed out at work than at home.
