Sure, but it'd be even more special if it were written by you even if it wasn't that good. It's the thought that counts.

Showing your expression of love by other peoples words is fine. Most of the answers here are telling you the same thing. Don't claim to have written it. We play songs that other people write for our lovers. We send cards written by other people for our lovers. We can send poems written by other people.
Maybe try to use some of the words and quotes to write one better to fit into your situation. Again let the other person know you wanted to express those things and with the help of another writer you found the right words and tweaked them to fit the both of you.

Yes if people don't think so then I guess that it's not a romantic evening if you go out to some fancy resutrant or you go out to a beach or look at the stars. Did you create that all that out there. Did you make the food the chocolates the movie the air your lover breathes. We all have talents in differnent areas and you or others may not be able to write poetry but looking for and digging for a poem while that's cool. But yeah for sure make sure to give credit where credit is due other wise some people couldn't really make a living writing poems. Plus writers block.

Yes, as long as you indicate that when you read the poem you couldn't think of anyone else but them. Or, you can wait for a romantic moment, sitting under a tree or on a blanket somewhere and say, "You know, I was reading this poem and I thought of you...would you like to hear it?", then pull it out and read it to them. It's like saying, "I saw this lovely sunset the other night and wished that you were there" or "I saw this lovely sunrise and it reminded me of when we went to such-and-such". Telling your boyfriend, or girlfriend, that something lovely reminds you of them is a very high compliment, so yes, it is okay, as long as you do it in such a way that it brings you both to the same place the same way. What you don't want to do is say, "here's a poem for you" and simply send it to them. That would be like sending them flowers and saying "here, flowers". Which reminds me, it isn't a bad idea to send a famous poem on the card along with the flowers when you "do" send flowers...it's quite a romantic jesture...as long as you give the famous poet credit for the poem by putting their name at the end :)

better yet...write your own love poem...keep it short, keep it simple, keep it honest, and don' t make it try to rhyme.

It's okay but not the best.

Lifehousecool made a good point. You want to take ownership of your love to her, increase or maintain your self esteem, and hopefully the esteem she has for you, then you write it yourself.

You ever see the Cyrano de Bergerac version in film played by Steve Martin, who is a fire chief in a small Colorado village? If you haven't seen it, by all means watch it. There are some very good lessons in how to woo a lady. The point is made very clearly that it is far better to write your OWN verse to the person you love.

well true love comes from the heart and to send another poem written by someone else your love just dies and you get no credit for it no self esteem but it is okay if you want to give the person a poem but cant write one yourself cause your just to sad to or dont want to its ok i guess but writing your own poems expresses your true self

it's ok to send love poems not written by you, as long as u premise it by say..."i wrote & tore up so many pages of lines that i had written to express my love for you...when, suddenly, flipping through pages of one of my favorite books that was given 2 me by my great great grandfather...i came across this poem & it was as though, his spirit turned the book to this page & the expressions of love that i feel for u were spilled onto the page in the blackness of ink against the aged ivory parchment. ok, maybe not that dramatic, but it's all about the premise & the thought that counts.

Yes within context. If you look at the person and say something like: I was reading a poem by Pablo Neruda and it reminded me of how I feel about you. Would you like to hear it?

Or if you put a preface like that to something you send.

In those ways, I think it's perfectly fine.

do u luv this person?
why not tell this person?
in the absence of ur own creativy

Sure, it still means you took the time to find the perfect poem.

Sure, but always include the author. She'll think your pathetic if you don't and she knows the poem (Chances are one of her friends will know it which is just as bad.).
